Japanese Like Taking Pictures in Lithuania’s Pavilion

According to the reporter of the Lietuvos Rytas Supplement "Mūzų Malūnas" Rūta Mikšionienė, EXPO 2005 World Exhibition going on in Japan for already the second month proves once again that the country can be represented in the best way through original artistic ideas. The 2 DNA Project created by architects Audrius and Marina Bučas and Valdas Ozarinskas and realised in Lithuania’ pavilion has attracted attention of both visitors and colleagues from other countries. Most visitors not only like taking pictures at the “double DNA” spiral but also ask from what and how it was made.

"Lithuania in the World" (2004, No. 5). EXPO 2005 is the first large exhibition of the 21st century. It will be held in the prefecture of Aichi in Japan, from 25 March to 25 September. It is expected that the exhibition will receive 15 million visitors over the 185 days. An area of 173 hectares will house the pavilions of 125 countries, eight international organisations, the largest Japanese business corporations, and a host of NGOs and other non-profit agencies. The motto of the exhibition is “Nature’s Wisdom”.

"Lithuania in the World" (2004, No. 3). Fewer than 300 days are left until the opening of the biggest exhibition of the 21st century, the world EXPO 2005 in Aichi, Japan. The Lithuanian delegation, which visited Japan in May, found the work at the Expo site in full swing. The pavilion of three modules which Lithuania will be sharing with Great Britain is almost finished.

"Lithuania in the World" (2004, No. 2) The first of the century, and so far the largest ever world exhibition, EXPO 2005 is starting in less than 11 months, on 25 March next year, and will last for 185 days. As one of the 121 participating countries, Lithuania will have a standard pavilion with an area of 324 square metres and nine meters in height in the European section. It will present itself as a modern country with advanced technologies, and which has preserved its original natural and cultural heritage and traditions.

A hundred and twenty-one countries, eight international organisations, the largest Japanese corporations, and a huge number of non-governmental and non-profit organisations will take part.
