Location

Lithuania lies in the eastern Europe, on the oast of the Baltic Sea. In the north Lithuania borders with Latvia, in the east and south with Belorus, in the south-west with Poland and with the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation. According to the French National Geographical Institute, Lithuania is the geographic center of Europe.

Climate

The climate of Lithuania is transitional between maritime and continental. In the 12-15 kilometers-wide coastal zone it is maritime, and in the Eastern part of the country it is continental.

Landscape

Lithuania is part of the East European Plain. On the territory of Lithuania hilly uplands alternate with lowland plains.

Juozapine Hill: 293,6 m. above sea level
